Description:

The matching cube is used when testing single-mode installations for reflection loss. It attenuates reflections that exist on the other side of the side of the system. The connector from the other end of the system under test plugs into the cube which allows the connector from the beginning of the system to be tested. This is an alternative method to making loops, which can cause damage to the fiber.
